Penny Pines Program
Concerned about Reforestation, Global Warming, and Carbon Exchanges?
Want to do something about it in California?
The Penny Pines Program was initiated in California in 1941. It started small but now is a major project supported by Garden Clubs.
We collect donations at every meeting and for every $68 collected we can buy a plantation of 350 trees (and not just pines) which will be planted by volunteers and maintained for five years by the National Forest Service.
Through the California Garden Clubs website, you can also purchase a plantation yourself to honor a loved one, and you will receive a certificate noting your tax-deductible contribution.
